JW MARRIOTT ORLANDO, GRANDE LAKES ANNOUNCES TWO FOOD AND BEVERAGE APPOINTMENTS
 
Orlando, FL – March 13, 2015 – Jadan Sheive, a 10-year veteran of JW Marriott, has been appointed Executive Chef, JW Marriott Orlando and Mariano Vegel is the newly appointed Chef de Cuisine at Primo by Melissa Kelly, the resort’s farm-to-fork restaurant.


Chef Sheive returns to the property after being part of the 2003 grand opening team at Primo.  In his new position, he will oversee all culinary operations at the 1,000-room JW Marriott including several restaurants, banquet operations, Whisper Creek Farm and the soon-to-open Whisper Creek Farm: The Kitchen.


A native of Central Maine, Chef Sheive started his career at Chef Kelly’s flagship Primo in Rockland, Maine. Since 2012, he has held the position of Executive Chef at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Phoenix and previously held chef positions at JW Marriott Hangzhou and JW Marriott Beijing in China (during the 2008 Olympics) as well as JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, CA and JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa, Tucson.  Chef Sheive graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and is a member of the American Culinary Federation.


Chef Mariano Vegel has been with JW Marriott Orlando since 2006 when he arrived in Orlando from his native Argentina. Since then he has held several chef positions across the property’s various food and beverage outlets starting at Citron, the resort’s casual dining restaurant, then moving on to Primo and Quench pool bar, and JW Marriott Orlando’s lobby lounge Sushi Bar. He returns to Primo to oversee day-to-day kitchen operations of this award-winning restaurant.


Chef Vegel holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the Argentine Institute of Gastronomy.
