GRANDE LAKES ORLANDO RENOVATES MEETINGS SPACE
Orlando’s Luxe Leader Renovates More Than 150,000 Square Feet of Indoor Meeting Space at The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott
Orlando, Fla. – September 10, 2013 – Grande Lakes Orlando continues to move forward with its multi-phase renovation project to upgrade the resort’s expansive meetings space. The resort, comprised of a Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott, opened in July 2003 as the first luxury resort in the city and today continues to set the standard for service excellence and group events in Orlando.
Renovations to the meetings space commenced in Fall 2012 and will be complete at the start of 2015. Spaces slated for a Fall 2013 upgrade include the 20,000-square-foot Palazzo Ballroom at JW Marriott Orlando and the opulent Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, as well as nine JW breakout rooms and The Ritz-Carlton Orlando meetings space foyers. The meetings space renovation includes carpeting, wall treatments, paint, décor, foyer furniture, window treatments, and lighting (including impressive chandeliers).
“Following our 2011 renovation of all of the resort’s 1,582 rooms and suites, as well as our 30,000 square-foot Mediterranean Ballroom last year, we are excited to continue the upgrades and look forward to offering revitalized meeting spaces to our guests,” says Karen Englund, Director of Sales and Marketing for Grande Lakes Orlando. “In addition to these space upgrades, in October 2012 we introduced one of our most exciting new offerings for groups: Whisper Creek Farm, a 7,000-square-foot fruit and vegetable garden with an adjoining 6,000-square-foot outdoor event space.”
Grande Lakes Orlando has more than 150,000 square feet of flexible indoor space, including 40 total breakout rooms, in addition to 115,000 square feet of lush outdoor space. From intimate weddings to large-scale association meetings, the resort can flawlessly execute events for groups of up to 1,650 guests. The Grande Lakes meetings space renovation is the beginning of a series of planned enhancements to Orlando’s luxury leader over the course of the next year, including a brand-new restaurant concept and renovation for The Ritz-Carlton Orlando casual dining restaurant and a whole new look for the 40,000-square-foot Spa.
