Orlando, FL – October 2012 – Each year since 1998, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company recognizes an outstanding Executive Chef with the Award of Culinary Excellence, a distinguished honor known as ACE. Executive Chef Sean Woods of The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is the 2011 recipient of this global award, in recognition of his professional accomplishments, dedication and leadership as a true champion of culinary expertise.  


Since opening in July 2003, The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes culinary team has impressed and inspired guests with Chef Woods overseeing culinary operations. He has been with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for two decades and exhibits an unparalleled passion for great food and true culinary leadership. Chef Woods now joins an elite group of Executive Chefs who have won the award in previous years, including Thomas Tolxdorf of The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island and Xavier Solomon of The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.

Chef Woods is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with a degree in culinary arts. He began his Ritz-Carlton career at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island and excelled to become Executive Sous Chef. Prior to Orlando, he was Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples, where in addition to his position at the helm of food & beverage operations, he was the team leader for The Ritz-Carlton Culinary Management Training Program. Chef Woods continues to achieve outstanding results with his Orlando team and he has also been an integral part of the pre-opening teams for other Ritz-Carlton resorts in Florida.
